Guidelines and Restrictions

I.  The following are allowed within the bounds of the owner’s property:

  • Granite or marble cemetery style benches

  • Granite or marble coping

  • Granite or marble grave stone markers no more than 72 inches in height

 

II.  The following are not allowed:

  • Fences

  • Non-granite or non-marble benches and/or coping

  • Mausoleums

  • Trellises

  • Above ground vaults

  • Walls

  • Landscaping timbers and/or landscaping blocks

 

III.  No grave space site can be dug without notification, approval and site marking by WECI.  To locate a grave space site, call/text one of the following for assistance: Angus McDonald (910) 695-6652; Linda Donnell (910) 215-6203; Ed Auman (910) 690-6391; or Susie Von Canon (910) 695-5639.

 

  • If you need assistance with purchasing grave space(s), WECI can assist you.

  • All grave spaces for traditional burial in WECI shall be dug by a licensed funeral home director or under their direction.

  • One grave space is needed for a traditional burial with a casket. (Vaults are optional.)

  • Three cremains (the cremated remains or ashes of an individual) may be buried in one traditional grave space.

  • Please use numbers above to contact a WECI person to assist with marking and advice if you choose to personally bury cremains.  Record keeping of the location of the cremains for future reference will be handled by WECI.

 

IV.  Other

  • To avoid conflicts with adjacent property owners, please contact WECI before placing permanent grave makers, coping, etc. on your deeded property.

  • Gravel and rocks on grave spaces are strongly discouraged.  If an owner chooses to use gravel or rocks, WECI requires that granite or marble coping to be used, along with regular maintenance to prevent weeds and to keep the gravel or rocks from the adjoining property(ies).

  • No trees shall be planted or removed from owner’s property without the consent of the WECI.  WECI has the authority at all times to trim or remove trees, shrubs and/or any other vegetation.  

  • Floral tributes on individual grave sites should have no more than one floral tribute per grave space, except immediately after burial services.

  • Floral tributes should be in unbreakable containers, but not glass or cans.  (Please note that metal used to attach floral arrangements to granite and/or marble may cause permanent stains.) Out of season or tattered floral tributes should be removed by owner.

  • Trinkets, toys, glass, stone and similar items are not allowed.

  • Military/American Flags (18x12 inches) are allowed as tributes for grave sites 2 weeks prior to and after Veterans, Memorial and Independence Days.

  • WECI reserves the right to remove items as needed.

  • Unleashed dogs are not allowed.

 

VI.  Owner’s deeded property may be transferred or sold only with prior written notice to WECI.

 

VII.  If any remains need to be moved or removed for any reason, a prior written notice to WECI is required.

 

Summary

It is understood and agreed that the aforesaid guidelines and restrictions and all theirs provision and conditions are accepted by the owner and their heirs and assigns. WECI reserves the right to adopt or modify all of the above. Owner recognizes that this agreement is established to allow the cemetery, in its entirety, to become a respectful tribute and memorial to loved ones.

 

WECI expressly reserves the right, privileges and easement to enter upon the property herein conveyed for the purpose of cleaning and/or beautifying said lands should the same become neglected or misused.
